Home of Judson Larrabee Hand, and his family. Mr. Hand is considered the founder of Pelham, Georgia and is said to have named it after his Civil War hero, John Pelham.

The building was built by Mr. J. L. Hand. According to research work by Mr. Gene Murkison, J. L. Hand designed this building as a replica of the Marshall Fields Building in Chicago, Illinois.

The building is four stories with an open rotunda to a dome. It has 100,000 square feet and sold everything. It even had a funeral home.
